The pioneering In2itive e-Diary raised the bar again by incorporating an electronic version of the Asthma Control Test™ (ACT™).
This unique device now includes a scientifically validated measure of asthma control in addition to a simple and accurate measurement of peak flow and FEV1
and a touch screen e-Diary. It is the first integrated spirometer and e-Diary to have been validated for ACT™. ACT was developed by the scientists at
QualityMetric Incorporated and is a five question health survey designed for individuals 12 years of age and older. The survey measures the elements
of asthma control as defined by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute and was designed with input from asthma experts. " We are excited
about the valuable role that the combination of these two powerful respiratory resources -- In2itive e-Diary and ACT -- will play in respiratory
clinical trials and in the effective home management of asthma," says Vitalograph’s Director of Clinical Trials, Lewis Weidman. Mark Kosinski, MA,
a Senior Scientist and VP at QualityMetric, and one of the original developers of the tool, agrees, "ACT's development follows a paradigm shift
in the treatment of asthma, from a focus on severity to asthma control. Specifically, ACT helps identify and detect asthma patients who are not well
controlled. This is valuable data for clinical trial investigators."
