Findings from the EEF 2018 Annual Work and Health Survey

Manufactures in Britain are urging the government to use its review of Occupational Health (OH) provision in the UK, to ensure all companies have access to an OH service as part of a wider strategy for tackling more than just work-related sickness absence. The EEF Annual Work and Health survey found waiting time for test, treatment and surgery, and work-related stress are the largest causes of long-term absence. The surveys major findings address long-term sickness absence, work-related ill health, which includes work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WRMSD), occupational lung disease (OLD) and work-related stress (WRS), and advice on occupational health services.
